The Porking of America

Not since the Space Shuttle Challenger disaster in 1986 has January 28th been such a sad day for America. In a post election orgy of euphoric power and greed, House democrats yesterday passed H.R. 1 (the "Economic Stimulus Package") approving the spending of $825 BILLION of your hard earned tax dollars (that we don't yet have, by the way) in what amounts to a Democrat/Liberal wish list of things that have nothing to do with stimulating the economy.

A quick look at the Wall Street Journal's article: "A 40-Year Wish List" will help you understand why this package is such a slap in the face of every American. It doesn't even mention the fact that there is $4.19 BILLION earmarked for ACORN and "neighborhood stimulation projects". Sounds more to me like payoff for the voter fraud that got Obama elected.

And just $90 billion, a mere .12 of every $1 to be spent on actual jobs and programs that would stimulate the economy.

If you're still not convinced then by all means read the package for yourself over at http://ReadTheStimulus.org where you can find full texts of both the House version (H.R.1 passed 1/28) and the pending Senate version (S.336/1) and full amendments in both .txt and .pdf formats.

I highly encourage you to get on the phones calling your reps (http://www.usa.gov/Contact/Elected.shtml) and telling them just how disgusted you are with this bill and with all those who approved it (http://clerk.house.gov/evs/2009/roll046.xml).

Why aren't people burning up the phone lines calling their reps and expressing their extreme disgust and lack of confidence in their stewardship and ability to represent? Why aren't there MAJOR PROTESTS across the nation? Why aren't people screaming that they're MAD AS HELL AND NOT GOING TO TAKE IT ANYMORE?!

To the 177 Republicans and especially the 11 Democrats that opposed this bill; thank you for your steadfast devotion to America and doing what is right in the face of majority opposition. You are true patriots and free America stands with you (just let us know where and when to muster). To the liberal Democrats that continue to push American citizens to the limit, a word of caution. America is still the most powerful nation on earth because of her citizens. Never forget that. History will be the judge.

ACTION ITEM: Prevent the "Prevention First Act"

Not many people have but it is being called FOCA's evil twin brother. The problem here is that it's already in Congress! We need to get people mobilized and calling/writing their representatives immediately!

This bill and other like it have been shot down in the past (http://www.govtrack.us/congress/bill.xpd?bill=s111-21&tab=related) but now the anti-life crowd are trying to slip in in again amidst the economic fray.

It goes before the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions committee so if one of those members are your reps, I highly encourage you to get on the phone and get letters written to them now!

Now what we just need to do is prevent people like Harry Reid from remaining in office.

Pelosi and "Family Planning Services"

It was rightfully noted by a reader on "American Papist" that Pelosi's use of the words "contraception" and "birth-control" were really to distract from what was really intended by Ms. Pelosi, namely funding for Family Planning Services. We know what that means - ABORTION.

We should always call things what they truly are, avoiding "softer" words that might assist in clouding the issue and we should be aware of attempts by others to do just that to us.

What Ms. Pelosi should realize even as a Catholic-In-Name-Only (CINO) is that both issues are equally as reprehensible to a Catholic, both are against Church teachings and are both anti-life. Notice I didn't say "pro-choice"!

BREAKING: Congress drops $200 million in contraception funding from stimulus bill

Washington DC, Jan 27, 2009 / 03:21 pm (CNA).- A $200 million provision for contraception programs is being dropped from the $825 billion stimulus package following criticism from pro-lifers and Republican congressmen.

President Barack Obama personally called House Democratic leaders to ask them to remove the provision, an Obama aide told CNN. One of his calls reportedly went to Rep. Henry Waxman (D-CA), chairman of the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform and one of the most influential liberal members of Congress.

The president reportedly urged the provision’s removal because it was a hot button issue among Republicans and did not focus on creating jobs as quickly as possible.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's latest regurgitation in a weekend interview with George Stephanopoulos of ABC was to imply that babies hurt the economy so the answer for the long term success of America is CONTRACEPTION! That's right, this is from a so-called Catholic. Don't cut the budget, cut out the kids by adding Family Planning to the Democrat Stimulus Package. Who is her Bishop anyway and why isn't he jumping up and down on Pelosi's desk yet?

Render unto Caesar - or not??

Regarding Jesus' teaching to “Render unto Caesar the things which are Caesar’s, and unto God the things that are God’s” (“Ἀπόδοτε οὖν τὰ Καίσαρος Καίσαρι καὶ τὰ τοῦ Θεοῦ τῷ Θεῷ”) (Matthew 22:21), we should always pay our taxes.

Today however, the situation is different and quite a bit more complex and begs the question: Is paying taxes that will be used for the federal funding of abortions, material cooperation with intrinsic evil and therefore a mortal sin? How can I then follow Christ's teaching by rendering unto Caesar knowing that which I render will be used for the greatest sin of all; the murder of innocent babies and infanticide?

Which would then be the greater evil, not rendering unto Caesar or allowing my taxes to be used for abortions? Could I then not pay taxes based on my religious beliefs? Would that jeopardize the tax-exempt status of the Catholic Church? Which is more important?

Evangelicals in Spain support Socialist plan to dissolve Catholicism

Madrid, Jan 21, 2009 / 01:50 am (CNA).- The executive secretary of the Federation of the Evangelical Entities of Spain, Mariano Blazquez Burgo, has asked the Socialist government to pass a law on the “neutrality” and “laicity” of the State, in order to establish a common equality among all the churches that exist in the country.

Even the gates of hell will not prevail against the Church so how is it the Socialists think they can do what hell itself cannot? Truth is they have no real concept of "church" as it embodies every single Catholic.

Given the current political climate, I can definitely see this happening here in America if we're not careful. We must be ever vigilant.

Oh, to be sure, they'll get their guns back. Either the government will reverse course and admit their mistake or they will become completely tyrannical and be thrown off. It is in the best interest of any free society to allow firearms in the hands of responsible citizens.

We had better learn the lessons of our friends in both Australia and England RIGHT NOW and never allow this to happen in America AT ANY AND ALL COSTS.

Convenient Americans - The Hollywood Presidential Pledge

Some years ago, even before I returned to the Catholic faith, I was going over my Christmas card list with my first wife when she said "Why should we send them one? They didn't sent us one last year!" Needless to say I was appalled, disgusted and saddened that I actually had to explain to an adult that claimed to be a Christian that "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you" means that you do FIRST because that's what's right and earns heavenly reward, not for earthly reward. It was then that I coined the phrase "Convenient Christian" only doing for others when there was something in it for her. Needless to say it didn't help our marriage.

I've taught my children since they were old enough to hear me to do the right thing only because it is right and not because there is something in it for you. There is no greater reason. Yet here comes Hollywood and all these uber-celebrities making all thee wonderful pledges under the new administration. Here's the video:

To be honest, this video absolutely disgusts me as do the people in it because it embodies exactly what is wrong with America. Not for what they're saying, those are all good things. But think deeper than that and ask the difficult question; Where were they 3 days before the inauguration? Where were they 3 months before? How about 3 years ago? Where was this pledge during the Bush Administration?

Folks, America hasn't changed "overnight" as so many are about to find out. Why is it that these "Convenient Americans" can only find it in themselves to make a pledge such as this and change their lives under an administration that they like, but not one they don't? It's that sort of "what about me?" selfishness that has slowly eaten away at the moral core of America. Their trite little pledge doesn't make them Americans and their performance is just them doing what they do best and that's not being American...it's acting. Simply put, this video proves to me that they are loyal little Democrats and Liberals BEFORE they are Americans. Good little party members. (sound familiar?)

The more I watch this, the more disgusted I become with it, with those that made it and with this ideology. Did they really say "Pledge to serve President Obama?" End slavery, yet serve the President? Let's get one thing straight...the President is to serve WE THE PEOPLE, not the other way around! He's not a king, not a monarch and not the messiah and let me say publicly and for the record...I WILL NEVER SERVE OBAMA OR HIS ILK. I will never bend a knee to anyone but God.

To all those Hollywood sheep who make their pledges to Obama, I submit to you the following quote from history as I could not have said it any better myself:

Rev. Joseph Lowery's Racist Inaugural Prayer

Did you know that if you're "white" you embrace what's wrong? You are according to Rev. Joseph Lowery who gave the inaugural benediction prayer yesterday that is sparking rage across the internet. He concluded with;

"Lord, in the memory of all the saints who from their labors rest, and in the joy of a new beginning, we ask you to help us work for that day when black will not be asked to get back, when brown can stick around – when yellow will be mellow – when the red man can get ahead, man – and when white will embrace what is right."

Well, it didn't take long for the race card to be pulled. Even knowing it hearkens back to an old song about equality, it has no place in an inaugural prayer that is supposed to unite a nation. If' we're all equal, why the mention of black, brown, yellow, red and white? And why then the implication that "white" doesn't embrace what is right?

Racist prayer and a botched Oath of Office all on day one. Taste of things to come?

"Catholic" Vice President? What an Embarassment

Well, it's already begun. Even Catholic news agencies are heralding the arrival of the nation's first "Catholic" VP. Well, almost. Almost Catholic, that is.

You see there's one problem here. There's more to being a Catholic or a Christian than just calling yourself one or declaring that "I believe...". It's how you live your life each and every day; how you treat the least of your brethren, following the Sacred Traditions and Magisterium, how you respect life and most especially protect innocent life, among other things. Without respecting the teaching authority of the Church (the Magisterium) or respecting Sacred Tradition, Joe Biden would then be, well...a Protestant!

In his failing to protect innocent life and actually supporting abortion, contraception and embryonic stem cell research, his blatant disrespect and disregard for the teachings of the Catholic Church and her Catechism, and through his support and endorsement of infanticide and abortion, Joe Biden has excommunicated himself and cannot in good conscience receive Holy Communion.

Confession wouldn't even help because a "good confession" means being sorry for having offended God with a contrite and humble heart, undoing the wrongs you may have committed as a result of that sin and changing yourself to refrain from committing those sins again. Without a sincere intention to completely change his public position on abortion, undo the wrongs he has committed against life while in public office, and with intent to commit the same sin again, even his confession will not be valid and he will have sinned again in receiving the Holy Eucharist.

Had his position been known only unto him and God, the sin and his subsequent and automatic excommunication would be private. But as a senior public official his position and opinion and declared pro-abortion actions are most certainly public and contrary to the teachings of the Church, his excommunication should be made equally public and formal.

He is an embarrassment to me and to the Catholic faithful and continuing to label him as a "Catholic" only validates other "Catholics In Name Only" (CINO's) in their disobedience and a scandalous disregard for the Church's teachings. He should be formally denied communion in accordance with Canon 915 and given one chance to publicly change his position. Failing that I call for his full public excommunication.

In fact, Joe even said "the next Republican that tells me I'm not religious I'm going to shove my rosary beads down their throat." What a horrible and disgusting display of public sacrilege against our most Holy Rosary. Does his disrespect for the Catholic faith know no bounds?

What he doesn't realize is that just going to church doesn't make you a Catholic any more than standing in a chicken coop makes you a chicken and I'll say it; since he rejects the Magisterium and the authority of the church as a Catholic, Joe Biden is NOT RELIGIOUS. I'll be waiting for him to come and carry out your threat of sacrilege and physical violence against me.

I'll be writing a letter to both him and to Archbishop Wuerl to express my concerns and I encourage all the faithful Catholics to do the same. Please feel free to post your replies in this thread!

What a mess. I just read this and had to pass it along. How very typical of this incoming administration and the socialibocrats (I just made a new word) to hope nobody noticed there is no Catholic clergy at the inauguration.

We're obviously not allowed at his table and that's just fine with me because he's excluded himself from the Lord's table by his words and deeds. When the enemy dislikes you, you're on the right track and the more they persecute us, the more right and righteous we are!
