WE ARE NOT EQUAL - NEVER HAVE BEEN, NEVER WILL BE

Just speaking with a friend on an argument he had with a liberal and a thought came to mind I wanted to share.

Here's the reality, and I'm sorry if you don't "get it", that's not my concern.  There is only ONE truth.  A million opinions on that single truth do not a million truths make.

WE ARE NOT EQUAL.  NEVER HAVE BEEN AND NEVER WILL BE.  THERE IS ONLY ONE ME AND ONLY ONE YOU - FOREVER.

God made each of us different.  Different heights, weights, shapes, voices, gifts, colors, races, languages, all developed and formed to the extent of our experiences and understanding...and all for a reason - HIS reason.  We're all different AND IN THAT LIES OUR SECOND GREATEST STRENGTH (The first being our faith in God).

But mankind has ALWAYS known from the dawn of civilization that although not all ARE equal, all SHOULD BE TREATED as equal.  From time immemorial, governments have tried and mostly failed to effect that truth and the only person ever to do it so completely is our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  Sadly, we do not always follow the model He gave us.

Our ingenious design as a nation is such that our government recognizes that ALL RIGHTS COME FROM GOD, not man... we are the first nation whose government is designed to GUARANTEE those rights to ALL PEOPLE.

Let me say that again...

ALL RIGHTS COME FROM GOD.

"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.--That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed..."

IF IT DOESN'T COME FROM GOD, THE CREATOR OF HUMANITY, IT ISN'T A HUMAN RIGHT.  It's as simple as that.

CREATED equal.... governments are created to SECURE (guarantee) those rights.  Nothing more.

BUT WITH RIGHTS COMES RESPONSIBILITY


Other things you may perceive as rights are actually "privileges" granted by government and they can be added, changed, or taken away as necessary.  RIGHTS ARE FOREVER, Privileges can be taken away.  Your driver's license is a "privilege" irrelevent of how necessary it might seem.  Voting, although we call it a right, is still a privilege granted and controlled by the government, you cannot vote under age 18 and convicted felons lose the right to vote, bear arms, etc.  It is actually a privilege granted by government.  Without getting into a secondary huge debate, the Second Amendment is in a sense BOTH a right and a privilege.  It is a RIGHT because it first and foremost SECURES YOUR LIBERTY AGAINST A TYRANNICAL GOVERNMENT and secondly it protects innocent life that comes from God and that is a sacred duty and responsibility... but it is also a privilege because it is possible to lose that right due to a felony or mental incapacity to wield such responsibility.  For example.... even if you lose the right to own or carry a weapon, you ALWAYS have a right to defend yourself even if that means the use of deadly force (the RIGHT part), but you just may not be able to use a gun to do it (the PRIVILEGE part).

Progressives, Liberals, Democrats, Socialists, Communists, etc... all they deny that rights come from God, or deny God altogether, wrongly declaring that all rights come from Government THEREBY REPLACING GOD WITH GOVERNMENT.

LIBERALS WORSHIP THE FALSE IDOL OF GOVERNMENT


They worship GOVERNMENT AS GOD and will always continue to do so for they expect the government to provide all things for them, while they sit back doing nothing to the detriment of others.  They elect narcissistic leaders that act as though they ARE God and whom lord over people as though they have some real power over them.  Maybe they wish to be ruled by those types but not me, not now, not ever.

In some ways, I say LET IT ALL FAIL to prove to them that Government is NOT GOD.  Once they are shaken to their very core and their whole world has crumbled down around them, they will once again find themselves on their knees praying to the one true GOD and begging us for help.

Proverbs 6:16-19

To the current usurper and traitor holding the illegitimate office of President of these United States seeking to destroy our nation-  Barrack Hussein Obama, Barry Soetoro, Harrison J. Bounel, or whatever other name you are actually known by - I accuse you of being guilty of each of these:

"There are six things that the Lord hates, seven that are an abomination to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that make haste to run to evil, a false witness who breathes out lies, and one who sows discord among brothers." Proverbs 6:16-19
 
1. You look with haughty eyes down upon America and our Constitution, belittling those who Love God, Life and Liberty.

2. Your lying tongue has deceived people into false belief in you.  You have hidden your past out of deception and of shame.  You have lied about every program you have put forth and have caused so many more to sin on your behalf.

3. Your hands shed the innocent blood of our Ambassadors, our agents, our military and most horribly of our unborn.  Their blood is on your hands.

4. Your heart devises wicked plans to cause harm to others, to cause scandal and further divide the nation to your own agenda.

5. Your feet make haste to run to evil and away from the Lord.  You always take advantage of any situation, even any emergency to your own demise.

6. You bear false witness breathing out lies as you have with the deaths of our Ambassador Stevens, Agent Brian Terry and many others and in your instigation of racial discord throughout this nation.

7. And in so doing all these things, as one who purports to be a leader who has never, for one moment, showed a single instance of leadership, you sow discord among brothers.  You are a divider of America and all that is good and unite only evil.

And in so doing by your own deeds and words Barry Soetoro, Harrison J. Bounel, Barrack Hussien Obama or any of the other names you are known by, we know you and generations to come shall know you.  By your words and deeds you are no Christian, you do the work of the deceiver Satan.  Write anything you want, our hearts know better.  We shall teach our children and their children and their children for generations to come that you are an abomination to the Lord, an abomination to America, an abomination amongst men and all of mankind.  You are a curse upon the land.

Essential vs Non-Essential

OK, I have to chime in on all this "Essential" vs "Non-Essential" garbage I keep hearing.

I'm a retired US Navy Senior Chief (84-04) and I now work for the govt for NAVSEA in the Washington Navy Yard in the building beside where 12 of my co-workers were killed last month. I've been dedicated to our Nation and Navy since I was 19 years old, either in uniform, as a contractor or now as a govt employee and every time it was for FAR less pay than my civilian counter parts. In fact, I was offered a 90K/yr job in 1988 but I stayed in the Navy because I thought it was the right thing to do.

I've spent countless YEARS away from home and family, missed anniversaries, birthdays and most of my daughter's childhoods for pay that still qualified for welfare, all because I believed it was still the right thing to do.

"Non-Essential" is a semantic legal status, nothing more. I was classified the same way when I was uniform and even when I was active duty ashore we still had "essential" and "non-essential" personnel. Essential only means those required to provide mandatory security, emergency services (police, fire, EMT's) and those needed for COO - Continuity of Operations, meaning those in critical command or staff positions needed to make critical decisions.

My job is to ensure that our new ships being built in Mobile, Alabama are built to contract and our ships are safe for our Sailors. You know, our sons and daughters that volunteered to go into harm's way to defend us? Remember them? They don't build their own ships, folks and I still spend MONTHS away from home every year doing my job.


So sure, my job is "non-essential" in the "we're not going to pay you until we're funded" sense. But believe me, the work I'm not doing today will still be there when I get back and I'll have to get caught up on my OWN time, so please tell me again how I'm getting something for nothing?



I've been screwed over by this government more than anyone can fathom and yet I still serve even out of uniform. It cost me one marriage and half my shitty little retirement for life and now I took a 30% pay cut coming to work for the Navy so you can imagine I'm not to thrilled about someone who has no clue telling me I don't have a job or that I'm non-essential.

Believe me, the two Commanders I work for are in the office right now picking up the slack for all us "non-essential" types right now so we all get screwed over. What they don't get done will still be there waiting for me when I get back, except it'll be overdue so I'll work overtime with no compensation to get caught up. Nice. More uncompensated time away from home and family.

That's how it works so you can understand why I get pissed off when people with no clue start spouting over the semantics of a legal definition they don't understand.

Thanks for Nothing America

Thanks America.  Thanks for nothing.  Due to your apathy and selfish elections of Socialists and idiots I'm now laid-off for only the second time in my life of 49 years.  The first was just two months ago with the other bullshit sequester cuts.  Both times working for the government.

For my whole adult life I served this nation, joining the Navy when I was 19.  I'm now considered "non-essential" because I'm not providing an emergency service, protecting bases or prisons, on active duty or medical personnel.

Non-Essential.  I only ensure the ships we build are built to contract spec so the builder doesn't rip off the taxpayer.

Non-Essential because I only ensure the ships we build are of the highest quality to keep our Sailors safe.

Non-Essential.  After 20 years of active duty service in uniform, 6 as a contractor, with a year in Egypt, and now nearly two as a government employee, I'm betrayed yet again by our government.

I was offered what I earn today, back in 1988 but I stayed Navy because I Loved our country.  I stayed for 20 in uniform and qualified for govt assistance through most of those 20 years but I never took a dime and I still stayed but not for the money but because I though America was a place worth fighting for.

I lost a lot of money taking this "non-essential" government job and had I not, I could be a better provider for my family.
Though I agree it needed to be shut down because of all the greedy, disgusting filth we call this administration, and I see on a daily bases some of those fat career leeches that serve no one but themselves, please remember that some of us “non-essential” employees are military retirees who continue to serve out of uniform.

We'll be fine, as we always are.  But I'm beginning to feel like the classic battered wife that despite all the abuses keeps defending her abuser because she thinks he still Loves her.  And we all know how that story ends.

Government Planned Seizure of 401K's and IRA's

Did you know that there are plans for the government to sieze your 401K and IRA accounts?  Don't be fooled into believing them that this is a new measure or a result of the "stimulus", but these plans have beeen in the works for YEARS now.  In fact, long before Obama's Marxist dreams came to power.  In December 2008, nearly two years ago I blogged about this very thing.

The Immortal Work of God

I would humbly implore everyone to take the time to please read the whole of "Immortale Dei" this incredible encyclical by Pope Leo XIII written on 01 November 1885.  It's strangely applicable today as it was back then.  Almost scary, in fact.  Here's an incredible excerpt.

Love Conquers Fear


Hi everyone! The blessings and peace of our Lord Jesus Christ to all of you. Sorry it's been so long since my last posting. I've been very busy in the first 6 months of a new overseas job in Egypt (yes, Egypt and more on that to follow) and with life in general and my apologies to all those who have enjoyed reading my posts and thoughts.

Recently on Facebook, I posted a comment about Love and Hate. I keep hearing people comment on how they're opposites and that very concept has bothered me for DECADES. So being me, naturally I've done my own research and have my own thoughts on the subject and I'm fairly certain they're in line with the Church and with plain old common sense.

Here's my original FB post:

"Hate is a strong word, but FEAR is stronger. FEAR is the opposite of Love, not hate. We are told to be FEARLESS (fear not, for I am with you always) and Jesus Himself told us to hate even our own parents, Loving only Him. (Luke 14:25)"

I've spent over 30 years developing the argument through an understanding of our Catholic Catechism, a little philosophy and theology, and a study of history, that Love and fear are opposites, not Love and hate.

Love is what brings people together, but so does hate. In fact, hate has the ability to brings people together faster than Love, but the effect isn't as lasting because once the source of hate is gone, so is the bond. As anyone that has ever been in Love can attest, it's historically harder to bring people together through Love, but once they do come together, the effect is much longer lasting and in some cases, even eternal!

It's natural to want to be close to that which we Love, be it a person, a place or even an ideology, but we want to be as far as possible from that which we fear! Fear truly drives people apart. Hatred is different because the goal is hate is different. I can be close to someone I Love AND I can be close to someone I hate, such as an enemy, in order to defeat them. Look at war and warriors. Sometimes, in order to know and defeat that which is hated, an enemy; you must get even closer to them than someone you Love in order to understand and eventually destroy them. ("Keep your friends close, your enemies closer" -Sun Tzu)

Jesus Christ who conquered death, proves that if we follow Him on the narrow path we too can conquer death and with fearless Love we can also defeat our enemies! Not destroy them, but utterly defeat them. If we truly don't fear death, what power does a mere mortal enemy have over us? NONE!

A friend agreed that Love and Fear are the core emotions and suggested; "hate or fear are not the true opposite of love. The opposite of love is not hate but.... indifference." and I have to disagree.

Yes, there is a LOT of indifference in the world today, toward God, toward one another and toward that which doesn't affect us personally and it is growing every day but indifference is neutral and is neither Love nor fear. Indifference is lukewarm and neither hot nor cold and as we're taught in Revelation 3:16; "So, because you are lukewarm--neither hot nor cold--I am about to spit you out of my mouth."

We are called to both Love AND fear God at the same time, working out our salvation in fear and trembling. If we truly Loves our neighbors as ourselves, our earthly lives will be that much better. If we truly Love the Lord our God with all our hearts, souls, minds and might, we need not fear anything, even death!

Kenny Johnson

This is sad news. My 28 year old son-in-law Kenny Johnson tragically passed away on October 13, 2009 at his home in Waldorf, Maryland. I wanted to share this with all of you to ask for your prayers for his soul and for his family and all those who love him, especially my daughter and young granddaughters. I wanted to create this page as a place where family and friends and all those who love Kenny can leave their thoughts, prayers and memories of him.


Kenny was born May 30, 1981 in Clinton, MD, the son of William F. Johnson, Jr. and Rhonda Marie Simard. He loved everything about cars and racing and was always working on one thing or another. He was an auto mechanic his whole life, working many years at Sears Automotive and he loved racing at Maryland International Raceway (MIR), Budd’s Creek, MD where he won a class trophy.


He loved his two baby girls so very much and they love their daddy still. I remember telling him when Kaylie was born that his whole world was about to change and that he would understand what that meant the moment he looked into those those big beautiful blue eyes under that mop of red hair. And that he did.


I'm old fashioned and was raised that it's disrespectful to wear a hat in someone's house. I remember when Kenny began dating Jean he would always walk in the house wearing his hat and I'd remind him and he would always take it off with a "oops" sort of grin. He meant no disrespect, he just always wore hats everywhere, even inside and it got to be a running joke with him. I would always remind him and once or twice even removing it from his head myself..lol.


Then there was the time he was at the house for dinner. Jean got up from the table and was getting a drink from the fridge and I asked her to grab me a beer. Kenny jokingly said "Get me one too" in a "get me my beer, woman" kind of tone and no sooner than he said that than the chair he was sitting in gave out. Sitting directly across from him, I'll never forget the look on his face for that fraction of a second before it sunk below the level of the table and all we saw was chair parts flying and arms and legs flailing. We laughed so hard we had tears in our eyes and we were just joking about it the last time I saw him for my birthday in August.


Another fond memory is from Christmas day 2001 when Kenny had planned on asking Jean to marry him. We all pretty much knew they were going to be engaged and were sitting in the living room and he was getting ready to ask when Stephanie jumped up and shouted, oh no you don't! She grabbed him, pulled him aside and told him that he better ask me for my permission and blessing FIRST! Kenny asked me if he could talk to me in the kitchen so in we went and he asked me for Jean's hand. I told him that as long as he loves her and promises to take care of her, he of course, would have my blessing.


Kenny is survived by his parents William F. Johnson, Jr. and Rhonda Marie Simard; his wife, Jean A. Johnson; daughters, Kaylie Grace and Jaydin Elyane Johnson; maternal grandmother, Geneva Jaeger; brother, Robert J. Simard, II of Waldorf, MD; sisters, Millisa Ann Blake of Nanjemoy, MD; Crystal M. and her husband Brian Hektoen of Mechanicsville, MD; step-mother, Cecelia Ann Johnson; Godchildren, Joseph and Olivia Scheungrab; nieces, Breanna Blake and Jenna Hektoen; nephews, Frankie and Devin Hardesty and James Doering and his best friends who were more like brothers, John and his wife Stephanie Scheungrab of Waldorf, MD and Michael Hamilton of FL.

Visitation will be Sunday, October 18, 2009, 2-4 and 6-8PM at Raymond Funeral Chapel, 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, MD.

The funeral Service will be Monday, October 19, 2009, 11AM at Raymond Funeral Chapel and he will be laid to rest on Monday, October 19, 2009 in the Trinity Memorial Gardens, Waldorf, Maryland.

Kenny was a good man, a good father and a good friend. He will be missed as a part of our family and will always remain in our hearts. May eternal light shine upon him and may he rest in peace.

On School Prayer


Recently a friend on Facebook sent me a message asking me to pray to have the Lord's Prayer allowed back in school again and it made me think about that very issue and I wanted to share my thoughts on the subject.

This is certainly a tough topic because it involves the much misunderstood and abused topic of "Separation of Church and State".
"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof;..."

There are obviously two parts. The first part prevents Congress (or the incorporated states) from establishing a "state" religion; the second part (largely forgotten about and wrongly superseded by misinterpretation of the first part these days), states that they cannot prohibit the free exercise of religion. Your religion, no matter what that may be. Public ridicule of other religions or complete rejection of all religion is NOT free exercise of religion, but it may be general freedom of speech if done properly and not in a belittling or provoking manner. People also do have the right to be wrong.

Though some would have you believe otherwise, the free exercise of YOUR religion on public property is not state sponsored establishment or endorsement of religion in any form and neither is a public display such as a nativity, a menorah, public prayer or any other such thing. In fact, the second part (no law...prohibiting the free exercise thereof) guarantees that RIGHT.

What it does do however, and is seemingly lost to us, is teach us two things. First to be tolerant of other people's faiths and second is to be strongly grounded in our own, whatever it may be. If a preacher or an atheist on every corner is such a threat to you as to cause you to question your own faith from block to block, then perhaps the problem isn't with them, but with yourself. If you're firmly grounded in your faith no amount of public preaching or displays will sway you from what you know in your heart to be true so all the public prayer and all the public displays of faith won't change what's in your heart. And so it should be. Isn't that one of the founding principles of Christianity?

Since the First Amendment prevents state endorsement of any one religion or force anyone into or out of any religion, it cannot force school children to pray. But more importantly it cannot restrain the free exercise of religion, even and ESPECIALLY on public property and that means they cannot stop a child from praying if they so choose!

While I do believe that the lack of religion and spirituality in our lives has caused immense moral decay in America, the lack of prayers in school wasn't the cause. The lack of prayer in school is merely a symptom of the lack of prayer in our lives, most importantly in our families.

I believe nobody should ever be forced to pray as prayer must come from the heart and a sincere desire to communicate in our relationship with God through prayer. You can't have a functional relationship with dysfunctional communication. I do agree that children should be taught to pray properly, but it should be by their parents who have a responsibility to train their children well the way they should go and when they are old they will not depart from it. (Proverbs 22:6)

Turning the tide of morality in America must begin at home and there will be no immediate results. You must have faith that by planting that seed now and teaching your children well and be being good examples of faith and morality, you are indeed supplying the future America with what is perhaps her most abundant resource; the faith in the American heart.
